Chapter 13: Digital Video Sizing

 Data Rate

  •  the rate at which information being transferred.
  • data rate used to describe the speed of a hard drive is Megabytes/second.

Calculate the file size of an uncompressed digital video file

Raw video data size
= frame size (width X height) * frame rate (fps) * colour depth (in bytes) *
    time (in seconds)

Bits:
1 byte = 8 bits
1 kilobyte = 1,024 bits
1 megabyte = 1,048,576 bits
1 gigabyte = 1,073,741,824 bit

Calculate the file size of an uncompressed digital audio file

Factors to consider when selecting graphics to be used in a multimedia project

  •  Purpose
  •  Quality
  •  Cost
