Chapter 3: Painting and Drawing with Color



1) Brush Palette

   - contains an unlimited number of options and settings to create and customize brushes. 
  

2) Brush Tool

  - add color to an image or to retouch area of an image.
  - only work on pixels and not on vector image.        


3) Creating Blends

  - smooth transition between 2 or more colors.
  - affect how paint interacts with the pixels underneath the painted area.
  - affects the transparency of the color, pattern, or effect.

4) Eraser Tool


  • Normal Eraser Tool
          - Background layer : paints with the background color
          - Normal layer        : erases all data, making that area transparent 
          

  • Background Eraser Tool
          - deletes the background pixels of a layer

  • Magic Eraser Tool
          - erasers pixels of the same color of the area that was clicked.









Chapter 2: Viewing And Managing Document


1) Color Modes 

      -Visible Spectrum are colors that can be seen by the human eye.
      - Gamut are range of colors that can be produced by a process or device.

  • RGB mode ( Red, Green, Blue)
  • CYMK mode ( Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black)
  • Indexed Color
  • Grayscale or Bitmap


2) Correcting mistakes using History Palette

     






  -  History palette list recently executed
     commands with the most recent
     command at the bottom.

Chapter 1



1) How to open / save images

  • to open : file > >open
  •  to save  : file>>save


2)Types of file format

  • PSD (Photoshop document)
  • PDF (Portable document format)
  • PSB (Large document format)
  • TIFF (Tagged image file format)

3)Pixel (picture element)

  • An image resolution is the number of pixels per inch of the image
  • The higher the resolution the more detailed is the image
  • A higher resolution will also result in an increase of file size

4)Relationship between on screen size and print size

          Formula to determine the printed size of a photoshop image :-

                    On screen size/Resolution = Printed width
